From the Education Committee Chair Marie Maloney - Sign Up Now – Zoom Educational Seminar!
Hey KDEA....Well, 2020 has definitely started off unlike any other, and, as such, our dressage education has been somewhat limited as well. Holly Zickler (from South Florida Dressage) has come up with a great idea that has gotten a lot of attention nationwide, and KDEA has the opportunity to be included. Read below, and, if you are interested, the link to register is at the bottom of the page. I have a copy of this book that I can loan out to anyone interested. It is an easy read and won't take long, but is packed with good insight from the author Janet Foy, “S” judge. It would be great to have a big turnout from KDEA members. Hope everyone is staying healthy!
From Holly Zickler of South Florida Dressage: “At Lisa Goretta's suggestion (thank you Lisa), I contacted Janet Foy about reading her book Dressage for the Not-So-Perfect Horse for our GMO book club and then having a Zoom meeting with her to discuss it, and she has agreed!
We have scheduled our Zoom meeting for June 24th at 7pm EST. This would be a great opportunity to share our resources together. Would you/your GMO like to join us for this event? It looks like the USDF store is closed, so it might not be the best place to order the book but Amazon has an eBook version and a few hard copies. Trafalgar Books has plenty of them. Here's a link to Trafalgar:

We've also set up a registration process through Strider (used to be Eventclinics), so that we can keep track/connect with members reading the book. Here's the link for that:

Please register using this link, and include city and state and GMO (KDEA), so that I can drop a pin for them. Looking forward to collaborating with you on this and future events! Thank you all so much!“
