About KDEA
Our Mission Statement: KDEA serves the South Central Kansas dressage and eventing community by providing educational, social, and competitive opportunities that promote a harmonious partnership between horse and rider.
Meet people who share your interest in equine activities! KDEA is an organization of some 60 members, mostly located in the Wichita area with an interest in promoting the sport of dressage and eventing. We were founded in 1984 and are very proud that we are run entirely by volunteers. The Association strives to promote and encourage educational clinics, symposiums, seminars, activities, and holds multiple schooling shows each year.
We are a non-profit educational organization whose purpose is to foster a high standard of horsemanship through the employment of classical dressage techniques. The Association is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The KDEA is a Group Member Organization (GMO) of the United States Dressage Federation, Inc. (USDF), and is part of USDF Region 4 (Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota). Upon joining KDEA, you are automatically an Individual member of USDF and will receive the magazine USDF Connection each month. As a KDEA member, you pay a reduced fee at KDEA educational events, and you are automatically eligible for the annual KDEA Schooling Show awards (you can submit one score from a non-KDEA show). For USEF recognized show awards, you must sign up and pay a fee. Being a KDEA member also means you do not have to pay the USDF non-member fee at USEF recognized shows, and you are eligible for USDF University Credits, participation in the USDF Adult Camps, and the USDF Adult Team Championships. For more information on KDEA awards, submit a request through the Contact Us page.
